I am pleased to share details of a brief interview held recently with an emerging Six Sigma Excellence practitioner!!
Here are the answers of what Six Sigma means to him in various scenarios that he encounters in daily life!!
1. What does Six Sigma mean to you at home?
For me Six Sigma at Home means:
· Eating food without spilling around
· Keeping the set of clothes that I am going to wear next day in the designated place ready, so I don't search
· Insert the belt inside the trouser buckles (so I can put it on fast)
· Going to sleep on time and getting up on time
2. What does Six Sigma mean to you when you travel by train?
For me Six Sigma when I am travelling by train means...
· Toilets be clean and tidy
· Not finding people sitting on the roof of the train (I see that shown on TV!!)
· Reaching my destination on time without delay
· Travelling with right ticket
· Not finding beggars in the train
3. What does Six Sigma mean when you travel with family in a car?
For me Six Sigma when I travel in a car means...
· Car is neat and clean (Take a look inside your car!!)
· Putting on the belt
· Not pushing people to get into the car!!
· Getting out in the correct side when car stops
· The driver should not drink or eat while driving the car (think about the versatile drivers who multi-task!!)
· The person driving should not speak on mobile phone (think about folks trying to hide their phone to avoid paying fine to the cop)
· The person driving should not drive very fast (think about folks racing on the road!!)
4. What does Six Sigma means to you when you are at the educational institution?
For me Six Sigma in the school means...
· Fall in straight line in the assembly / prayer session on the ground
· Not push or shove colleagues while falling in line for the prayer
· Not litter paper in around the school premises (think about folks spitting and throwing anything they like anywhere in public places!!)
· Report to school and assembly in time (think about folks who never come to in time in office meetings!!)
· Not talk / disturb in the class (when teacher is there or away) (think about folks who talk on the mobile while a class room or meeting is on!!)
· Not pull or push people sitting near me (think about folks trying to get in or get out of the train or jostling to get security cleared in airport or to get out of airplane on landing)
· Obey teacher's instructions properly
